The stereotyping of Muslim women as a subordinate group has resulted in widespread discrimination and gendered Islamophobia. This webinar addresses the challenges faced by Muslim women in the tourism industry, both as tourists and professionals. Through personal stories and expert insights, the webinar will discuss the impact of discrimination and gender bias in workplaces and when traveling; strategies to overcome access, visibility, and participation challenges and to create a more inclusive empowerment environment; how Muslim women themselves can advocate for inclusivity within the tourism industry; and types of proactive steps the tourism industry can take to ensure that Muslim Women’s needs and identities are acknowledged and respected.
