Sustaining Communities through Net Positive Hospitality
The future of the tourism industry depends on protecting the locations, livelihoods and communities in which hotels are based. Therefore, we must all ask what we can do to create a prosperous and sustainable hospitality sector. Hotels share local resources with tourists, and each must move towards having a net positive impact on the environment. Zero impact is not enough, we need to make sure people, planet and profit are all valued equally. At that point everyone has a chance to prosper – businesses, individuals, local communities, and the environment. This webinar brings together the hospitality industry and strategic partners to address key challenges affecting the planet and its people, local destinations, and communities. The CEO of the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance discusses the nature of a responsible hospitality sector with two major organizations, Amane Resort, and the ANA-Intercontinental Hotel, both in Beppu city, Japan. This Webinar creates a dialogue between “thinking globally and acting locally” and “net positive hospitality”.
