Hera Oktadiana
Hera is an adjunct Associate Professor at James Cook University Australia. She is also affiliated with Trisakti School of Tourism Indonesia. Hera earned her Ph.D from the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She has been the Head of Hospitality and Tourism Departments at Bina Nusantara University (BINUS) and Bunda Mulia University, and Deputy Manager for Trisakti’s International Hotel and Tourism study program. Hera has various publications and receives awards for her research and publications, including from the Indonesia’s Ministry of Research and Technology in 2020 and John & Wiley Publication in 2022. She is on Editorial Board of several international tourism journals. She is now the Regional Vice President of the International Tourism Studies Association (ITSA) and a visiting professor at University of Education (Tourism Faculty) Indonesia. |
Awam Hamara
Awam has been the head of Cibuntu Tourism Village, Kuningan Regency, West Java, Indonesia since 2003. Previously, he worked in PT Samudera Indonesia Tanjung Priok from 1973 to 2003. Under his leadership, Cibuntu Tourism Village has been receiving several national and international awards for its achievement in developing sustainable tourism, community-based tourism, and homestay accommodation. |
Ritto Riswanto
Ritto is the Head of Tourism Destination Division of Youth, Sports and Tourism Government Office of Kuningan Regency, West Java. He has been working at the Department of Tourism and Culture of Kuningan Regency since 2013. Ritto is responsible for planning, organising, and managing sustainable tourism development at the Regency, aiming at community empowerment. He obtained his master’s degree in Tourism from Trisakti School of Tourism Jakarta. |
Henky Hermantoro
Henky obtained his Bachelor of Architecture from Gadjah Mada University Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and Regional and Tourism Planning from Brugge, Belgium. He received a dual master’s degree in urban and Regional Planning and Public Administration from Pittsburgh University, USA. He started his career as a civil-service employee at the Central Java Provincial Office, department of Regional Development, Planning, Public Relations, and Tourism. He was then employed at the Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism. Currently, he is working as a part-timer lecturer at Trisakti Institute of Tourism Jakarta. Henky has published several books in tourism related topics. |
Ricky Setiawanto
Ricky is the Director Inbound Panorama Group that engaged in tourism business. He has been working in various tourism enterprises since 1988, including Satriavi Tours and Travel, Puri Tour and Travel, Puri MICE, Pacto Destination Management, and Panorama Destination. His acquired a degree in engineering from Darmstadt Techniche Hochschule Engineering, Germany. His master's degree, Master of Architecture and Tourism Planning, was attained from Gadjah Mada University Indonesia. |
R. W. W. Agie Pradhipta
Agie is a lecturer at Trisakti School of Tourism Jakarta, Indonesia. Before joining Trisakti in 2000, he was a tour leader. He earned his Bachelor degree from Trisakti School of Tourism, and Master in Tourism from Gadjah Mada University Yogyakarta. He has been involved in tourism village development projects since 2008. In 2014, he was appointed as an advisory council member of Bogor Regency Tourism Village Association. He was also serves as advisor in village development grant programs, in collaboration with Indonesia’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. Agie actively involves in various community empowerment programs. |
Abel Kiranti
Abel started her career in Bingkai Warta online media as a marketer in 2016, then later as a journalist in 2018. During her tenure as a journalist, she has covered various news, particularly in tourism, national security and defence, and law/criminal offence. She is currently managing the media centre for Kuningan regency’s military district command. |
Amrina Rosyada
Amrina is a tourism management student at Trisakti School of Tourism Jakarta. Her main interest is in tourism village development. She actively participated in several competitions concerning tourism village. Currently, she is working on a project funded by the Indonesia’s Ministry of Research and Technology to increase the productivity of Cibuntu Tourism Village through optimisation of Ecofarm Tourism. Amrina also involves in Trisakti’s tourism village development projects. She wishes to be able to contribute to the society through the projects. |

Revisiting tourism villages in Indonesia
The synergy of the penta-helix tourism stakeholders
Following the success of previous webinar volume 38 on ‘empowering tourism villages: successful practices from Indonesia’, this webinar aims to further explore the roles of penta-helix tourism stakeholders in developing a tourism village. They comprise academic, business, community, government, and media. The discussion highlights the enchanting Cibuntu tourism village of Kuningan Regency, West Java, Indonesia. Situated on the slopes of Mount Ciremai, the village is known for its magnificent landscape and nature, spellbinding cultural festivals, and historical sites. Various tourism activities offered by the village include agrotourism, cultural tour, mountain cycle, and trekking. Cibuntu tourism village has won several national and international awards: the 5th ASEAN Best Tourism Village 2016, the 2nd best Indonesia tourism village 2017, and the winner of Indonesian Tourism Village Award 2021 for the Inspirational Independent Tourism Village.
