Professor Fevzi Okumus is the Central Florida Hotel and Lodging Association (CFHLA) Preeminent Chair Professor within the Hospitality Services Department at the University of Central Florida’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management. He was the Founding Chair of the Hospitality Services Department at UCF Rosen College. His main teaching and research areas include strategic management, leadership, hospitality management, services marketing, training, and lodging. He has over 330 academic publications (over 210 refereed journal articles, seven books, 12 book chapters, and 90 conference presentations and reports). As of October 2nd, 2024, his publications have received 28,070 citations, and he has an h-index of 76. He has chaired/co-chaired and served on numerous PhD dissertation and master thesis committees. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management (IJCHM) (Impact Factor: 9.1) and the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Insights (JHTI) (Impact Factor: 4.8). |
Prof. Dr. İbrahim Birkan was born in 1953. He graduated from the Ankara Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences in 1974. He completed his master's degrees in Marketing and Finance at the same institution in 1975 and 1976, respectively. From 1977 to 1979, he pursued a master's degree in Tourism Management at the University of Massachusetts in the U.S. He obtained his doctorate in International Marketing from Marmara University in 1984. Throughout his career, İbrahim Birkan has held managerial positions in the tourism sector while also engaging in academic work. From 1975 to 2015, he served as General Manager and Coordinator in the tourism industry in both the U.S. and Turkey. He has worked part-time at Boğaziçi University, Bilkent University, and Başkent University. Since 2015, he has been the Head of the Department of Tourism Management at Atılım University. |
Prof. Ebru Gunlu KUCUKALTAN has a Ph.D. in tourism and is currently works at the Faculty of Business, Dokuz Eylul University, Turkey. She is currently the Acting Dean of Tourism Faculty. Her primary research areas are in the application of management theories and behavioural sciences to the hospitality field as well as the moral considerations surrounding women's and animals' rights in the travel industry. Among many of her publications, her co-authored papers on crisis management and on workplace friendship in travel agencies were awarded with the best paper awards at international conferences, while her co-authored book chapter with Prof.Fevzi Okumuş, "The Hajj: Experience of Turkish Female Pilgrims" earned her the Outstanding Author Contribution Award from the Emerald Literati Network. Dr. Uysal, Ph.D., is the Provost Professor and Carney Family Endowed Professor at the Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He served as department chair from 2016 to 2023 and has led workshops and seminars in over 25 countries. Dr. Uysal is the president of the International Academy for the Study of Tourism and a fellow of the Academy of Leisure Sciences. A co-founder of Tourism Analysis, he has authored numerous scholarly works, including five monographs and sixteen books. Widely recognized for his contributions, he has received over 30 awards for research, education, and teaching. From 2021 to 2024, he was listed among the top 1% of highly cited researchers by Clarivate Analytics and received the Research.com Business and Management Leader Award for three consecutive years. His current research focuses on tourism development and quality of life in hospitality settings. |
Musa Pinar (MBA and Ph.D., Mississippi State University, BS, Age University, Izmir, Türkiye) is a Professor of Marketing, and Paul H. Brandt Professor of Business at Valparaiso University. He teaches undergraduate and MBA marketing and branding courses. His research interests include service quality, brand orientation, gender effect in the sales field and tourism, gender-food stereotypes, brand ecosystem, and measuring brand equity in banking, higher education, Turkish sports league, Net Promoter Score (NPS), and its predictors for city mayor, CSR, purchasing foreign (Turkish) products and brands, nation branding and nation brand equity. He has published over 65 referred papers in various academic journals, some of which are Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice, Sex Roles: A Journal of Research, Journal of Business Ethics, Services Marketing Quarterly, International Journal of Educational Management, International Journal of Bank Marketing, Journal of Hospitality Management and Marketing, Journal of Applied Research in Higher Education, SAM Advanced Management Journal and has published two book chapter. |
